 Commercial Estimator Entry Level - is responsible to complete commercial or multifamily take offs from builder blueprints and complete material and labor estimates for each job order. 

  • Interprets blueprints and CAD drawings to create load calculations and designs
  • Estimates the amount of materials and cost of labor to complete the installation of insulation in commercial homes and building
  • Communicates directly to the customer/builder when necessary
  • Returns all necessary information back to the assigned sales rep to continue with the bid process
  • Able to forecast the needs of materials per each blueprint
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or College Degree in Construction Management 
  • Experience using software programs to create load calculations, duct layouts, bill of materials and estimated cost of proposal
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and Outlook Programs for daily communication with division and transferring completed bids effectively in the system
  • Maintain and record details of bid status log for each assigned division
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Understand how to read blue prints and be able to draw and draft design plans
  • Familiar with inspector guidelines and safety precautions
  • Good data entry skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and be able to analyze the information
  • Basic Math skills
  • Must be able to meet short deadlines with the ability to work beyond normal office hours required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license to drive a company vehicle

Position requires a Drug Test and Motor Vehicle Report to be completed, contingent upon employment.

Physical Demands
  • The ability to bend, walk and stand for periods of time.
  • Able to ascend / descend ladders or scaffolds if needed to view and measure.
  • Ability to read and use a computer.
Work Environment
  • Construction and office environment; able to adapt to weather conditions.
